The mystic behind Palo Santo

Guaiac wood has been part of the South American culture for centuries. Its warm and soothing scent has been used since millennium years in religious rituals and ceremonies. The Incas, indigenous people of the Andes, shamans and healers used it for its metaphysical properties of purification and cleansing of the soul. Some tribes believed that burning this wood outside their homes would prevent bad spirits to come in, others believed that if the newly wed couples planted a seed of this tree in the absence of witnesses their union would last forever.

At the time of South America’s discovery the Spaniards were fascinated with its healing and olfactive properties and called it “palo santo”, which in Spanish means “sacred wood”.

Its delicate sweet and woodsy aroma with notes of citrus and frankincense and all its magical and enchanted history inspired us to create Palo Santo Eau de Parfum. An exciting fusion between the spiritual Palo Santo and warm caramel, sweet tonka bean and vetyver. A perfume that may bring good fortune and blessing to those who are open to explore its magic.
