Christmas Magic in Barcelona

Christmas is a special time in Barcelona. The city comes alive with bright lights, charming markets, and deep-rooted traditions.

Join Carner Barcelona's founders, as they revisit some of their most cherished Christmas memories.

For Sara and Joaquim Carner, Christmas in Barcelona is a time filled with legends, love, and tradition. Taking a stroll through iconic spots like Santa Llúcia market, is an annual ritual that marks the start of the celebrations.

"In our family, Christmas always began at Santa Llúcia, where we'd get our tree and nativity scene figurines... It felt like stepping into a fairy-tale" recalls Joaquim Carner.

The Santa Llúcia market stands as a city icon this time of year. "Some of its booths have been around since we were kids. It's amazing to witness the city coming together at this fair every year to prep their homes for the holidays" shares Sara.

Another cherished tradition for us during this season is savoring churros with chocolate at Café Petritxol Xocoa. This café is a timeless spot during Christmas, renowned for crafting the city's finest churros with chocolate for over 20 years.

"Indulging in delicious churros with chocolate, listening to carols, and feeling the chill on your hands... It doesn't get more festive than this"  reminisces Sara Carner.

Undoubtedly, a standout destination during christmas in Barcelona is Passeig de Gràcia. Creative design and architectural majesty combine to offer a unique visual experience.

"The starry sky, the dazzling light show of Casa Batlló, and the vibrant red facades create a magical setting" explains Joaquim.

Christmas in Barcelona brings out the child in all of us, and fortunately, the city provides the perfect setting to experience this magic.

From Carner Barcelona, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
