To bring ISLA BOHEMIA to life, Sara Carner — founder and creative director of Nisrine BouazzaouiCarner Barcelona — shared with perfumer Nisrine Bouazzaoui the vision of creating a fragrance that evokes the feeling of escaping to a wild, sunlit Mediterranean island.
From that idea, Nisrine crafted a modern and enveloping composition where fruity freshness, creamy textures, and addictive warmth coexist in perfect balance.
The Inspiration Behind ISLA BOHEMIA
As perfumer Nisrine Bouazzaoui explains, it all began with a very specific idea: capturing the feeling of a Mediterranean island where the air feels sweet, nature remains untouched, and time seems to stand still.
We wanted to create a fragrance capable of conveying freedom, light, warmth, and that imperfect beauty that defines the Mediterranean spirit.
From this emotional vision, Nisrine began imagining what that landscape might smell like.

ISLA BOHEMIA se abre con una nota de pera helada (“iced pear”) fresca, luminosa y jugosa.
La pera aporta una sensación moderna y sofisticada, alejándose de los perfumes afrutados excesivamente dulces. Aquí se siente limpia, solar y elegante, evocando fruta fresca bajo el sol mediterráneo.
En el corazón, iris y musk crean una textura suave y envolvente que se funde con la piel. El iris añade una faceta cremosa y sofisticada, mientras que el musk aporta calidez y sensualidad.

How We Created ISLA BOHEMIA
Creating a fragrance involves far more than simply blending ingredients.
As Nisrine Bouazzaoui explains during the creative process:
Every accord was carefully refined until we found the exact balance between freshness, sensuality, and depth.
The fruity radiance of iced pear was created first. Iris and musk then followed, bringing texture and creating the perfume’s distinctive skin-like effect. Finally, vanilla wrapped the composition in a warm, addictive sensation.
This constant process of testing, adjusting, and rebuilding is precisely what transforms an abstract emotion into a real olfactory experience.
