The catalan artist, considered, above all, a sculptor, although his creative process has included multiple disciplines, addresses his work not to create objects, but to develop relationships that embrace everyone. Plensa has often said that sculpture is the ideal way of raising issues. Firenze II (1992), the work that marks the start of Plensa’s exhibition at MACBA, is a huge question mark leaning against the wall. This solo exhibition of Jaume Plensaat MACBA offers a broad overview of the work of one of the Catalan sculptors with the widest international profile. Awarded the National Visual Arts Prize of the Generalitat (1997), the Velazquez Prize for Visual Arts of the Ministry of Education and Culture (2013) and the City of Barcelona Prize (2015), among others, he is recognized worldwide for his public works in cities such as Chicago, London, Montreal, Nice, Tokyo, Toronto and Vancouver. It’s been twenty-two years since the last time his work was exhibited in a Catalan museum, so this is definitively a unique opportunity, and a great plan to enjoy on a Sunday morning! How does it sound to enjoy vermouth under the sun to round off the morning? Yes, we know it’s winter but… Pulitzer Hotel’s rooftop is open all year round where you can go sample an aperitif with snacks, with a blanket (if needed), paired with the best DJ sessions.

Oh and, The Pulitzer has also created a very special aperitif with snacks just for them, a “vermutet” (mini-vermouth) consisting of a small tray with crisps, olives (pitted!) and a fruit juice. The Chocolate Museum & Brunch at Cecconi’s:
Is there anyone who does not love chocolate? The former Sant Agustí monastery, in the area of El Born, houses the yummiest museum of our city, the Chocolate Museum! A building dedicated to take visitors on a journey through the origins of chocolate: its arrival in Europe, its spread as an element between myth and reality, its medicinal properties and nutritional value and relating tradition with the future and forming part of our collective imagination.
Every Sunday, the museum offers different activities and workshops for both, kids and adults, where visitors can enjoy a very sweet morning, letting their senses roam free with the captivating aroma and flavor of chocolate.
You may feel hungry after the visit, but don’t worry! The best brunch in Barcelona is just 5-minute walk from there. Cecconi’s, is a modern-day classic Italian restaurant in the building of renowned Soho House Club. This is actually the only restaurant of this private club, open for non-members. The brunch buffet on Sundays, served from 12pm to 5pm, is simply spectacular. Hand-made pasta, seafood and dishes from Northern Italy using the finest ingredients, are some of the options offered to delight your palates.
